OutKast and Salt-N-Pepa, two of the most iconic rap groups in the game, are officially getting their flowers as they’re inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

OutKast, nominated for the first time, is being recognized in the Performer category for their unmatched creativity, influence, and originality. Salt-N-Pepa is being honored with the Musical Influence Award, saluted for the way they helped shape the culture and bring hip-hop into the spotlight. The induction ceremony goes down on November 8.

OutKast, straight outta Atlanta, changed the whole game when they came on the scene in the early ‘90s. André 3000 and Big Boi brought the South to the forefront with their debut *Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik*, and they never looked back. From hits like “Ms. Jackson” to “Hey Ya!” and “B.O.B.,” their sound was always ahead of its time. They mixed funk, soul, and hip-hop in a way nobody else did—and when they dropped “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below”, they made history, taking home Album of the Year at the Grammys. Legends, no question.

Salt-N-Pepa broke down doors for women in hip-hop. Coming out of Queens in the mid-‘80s, Salt, Pepa, and DJ Spinderella proved that ladies could run the mic too. With bangers like “Push It,” “Shoop,” and “Let’s Talk About Sex,” they brought bold, empowering vibes and repped for women everywhere. They didn’t just make hits—they made statements.

This Hall of Fame nod is long overdue. OutKast and Salt-N-Pepa didn’t just make music—they shifted the culture. Salute to these pioneers for leaving a mark that still moves the crowd today.
